Sacm 1935 A Serial Number List

Serial

LSB#: 200605DW11 Make: Societe Alsacienne de Constructions Mecaniques (S.A.C.M.) Model: 1935 A Serial Number: E 3094A Year of Manufacture: 1944-1946 (German occupation production ceased in 1944 at D4550A, F-prefix serial block began in late 1946, likely produced 1945) Caliber: 7.65x20mm Longue Action Type: Single Action Semi-Auto Pistol with Removable Magazine. This is a 7.65mm SACM mle 1935A handgun. The gun has a 4 1/2” barrel and a good bore. This SACM mle 1935A has its original parkerized finish. The grips appear to be factory standard 2 piece black rubber grips. For additional information or photos, please call 585-657-6338. Call for more details. I am interested in acquiring a Pre-occupation model. When looking at them the few I have come across had a different number at the barrel muzzle on the slide and does match the serial on the side of the frame. It won the 1935–37 competition to produce the new French military sidearm. Initial production began in 1937, and the pistol began delivery to the French Army in late 1939, with a total of about 10,700 pistols built before German forces occupied the SACM factory in the summer of 1940. The 1935 series is worth more than the 1957 one dollar silver certificate notes, which have a similar look. Click here to search for 1935 silver certificates on Amazon. Star notes are overprint notes that have a star before or after the serial number. They are more rare but still many were produced.

My brother went through some of my grandfather's belongings tonight and came across this piece in a small locked box. It was rusted and corroded horribly. Using penetrating oil and a nylon brush, he was able to clean it up the usable standard. This is what we know.
We believe it to take a 7.65 / .32 french long ammo. Looks to be a SACM m1935-A. It is outfitted witha lanyard loop for use by French Policia. It has a 766a (F?) serial number. As of now, we can not find a war pruf stamp that would indicate that it was possessed by the Third Reich. The F we believe, indicates that it was made after France was Liberated. Trying to get better pictures, but this is what we have.
